When first arriving in London six years ago, I was desperate to find good Asian restaurants that could live up to those offered in Sydney or even Asia. Trial after trial of many restaurants in London, I was repeatedly disappointed. However, with my passion for food and perseverance , slowly I started uncovering some of the great restaurants London had to offer. Also one of the best ways to learn to cook well is to go out and eat eat eat! Here I share some of the best places that I’ve come across and hope you will enjoy too!

Yauatcha
This restaurant is owned by Alan Yau and serves up some very delicious dishes with many influences from Taiwan and Japan and not to mention the Taipei tea is divine! One may think this is just another dim sum / yum cha restaurant, however it is much more, providing an indulgent food experience with flavours complimenting and exploding in your mouth. It is well worth the money and visit!
The White Horse
This Thai restaurant forms part of the pub and available everyday except Sunday, however don’t be fooled! Under its rugged exterior lies dishes bursting with flavours and spice, but without the price! If you live nearby, I’m envious that this place is your local as I travel at least an hour every time for a bit of Thai heaven.

Taiwan Village
This is one of the rare authentic Taiwanese restaurants found in London and if you have a chat to the owners, they are more than willing to point out all the local Taiwanese dishes available. Great if you’re getting to know Taiwanese food or just craving dishes that your family or local Taiwan hokka centre used to make.
